A recent camping trip brought us to Thomas Point Beach Campground in Brunswick Maine. A favorite campground for our family.
Due to a bit of a mix up we ended up a different campsite than usual this year, “L”. The site was great so it was a happy accident.
We had plans on Friday night to take the kids to their first concert, The Postal Service. This band is special to Jamie and I as “Such Great Heights” was played in our wedding. We have drastically different tastes in music and there are only a handful of bands that both of us truly love to listen to. This band and their only album is something that both of us loved. We figure this would make for a meaningful first concert for our kids.
The concert was in Portland, only about a 45 minute drive from the Thomas Point Beach Campground. After quickly setting up our camper we headed out, grabbed dinner and attended the concert. Jamie and I loved it, the kids were ok with it but loved the candy and popcorn…so it was enjoyable enough for everyone.
After a late night out on Friday we were definitely all feeling it Saturday. My dad planned on coming down to spend the day with us so our plans were to just hang out at Thomas Point Beach for the day. We only left the area for a quick trip to Walmart to purchase a forgotten toothbrush.
We spent the rest of Saturday hanging out at our campsite. The kids and my dad drew pictures. They gave him some art lessons.
We got locked out of our camper and my dad and Jake had to crawl through a small hole underneath to get in and fix the lock. Jake later said, “my favorite part of the day was when we got locked out of the camper”.
We set up the hammock and the kids played in it for awhile.
My dad bought the kids some stomp rockets and they played with those for awhile.
We went down to the beach for a bit too.
So many snails!
The tide was way out but we explored the sand, the kids splashed a bit in the water and we hung out down there for a bit.
After dinner we went to a nearby ice cream place and got some for dessert.
My dad headed home shortly after this. We did a small campfire and the kids played with some glow sticks.
The next morning we packed up our campsite and then spent some time on the playground before heading out.
It was another excellent Thomas Point Beach Campground Trip.

My least favorite part was getting locked out of the camper. Good thing your dad was there since I was too fat to fit in the hole 😂
Great memories, thank you for sharing!
Hahaha, it all worked out.
