2022 was a BIG year for me. Before moving forward into 2023 I need to stop and reflect on the amount of change and positive things that happened to me and my family. I’m full of gratitude for the year we’ve had.
In no particular order these are my top seven moments of 2022. I conveniently have a blog post to accompany them all. One of my favorite things about keeping up with this blog is having access to so many memories easily at my fingertips.
The Results of my Father’s Surgery
I know I said these are in no particular order, but this one is top of the list and hands down the best moment of 2022. After eight long months of chemotherapy and radiation and unknowns and uncertainty we learned that my father’s surgery was a success and the rockstar angelic surgeon was able to get all the cancer out of his body. This is not only top ten moment of 2022, but top ten moment of my life.
The Purchase of Our New Travel Trailer
We’ve already used River Taco (named by Anika and Jacob) quite a bit but we have some big plans for this camper in the future that I’m particularly excited about. She represents simplicity, freedom and adventure to me.
Walt Disney World Trip
This trip was everything I didn’t realize I needed at this point in my life.
Having My Photo Published in a National Geographic Book
When an editor reached out to me after reading my Dolly Copp Campground and The White Mountains blog post to see if I had any photos they might be able to use for their latest book about campgrounds, I was stunned. With 100 percent honesty my initial thought was this has to be a scam. One of the coolest things that’s ever happened to me.
Moving Home to Maine
We made the big leap and moved back to our home state, Maine. We are settling in nicely and happy to be home.
Making the Decision to Homeschool
This is something I’ve talked about doing for a long time. I finally stopped talking about it, took the leap and we are doing it!
Turning 40!

It sounds like 2022 was a wonderful year for you with many milestones to celebrate. I can relate to your comment about blogging being a great way to capture many highlights. I felt the same way at the end of last year when I went back and read the weekly highlights and simple pleasures in my Sunday blog posts. There were many things I had forgotten about in the busyness of life. It was a great way to end the year. I wish you continued blessings in 2023!
Yes! Totally! My Blog reminds me of so many things that I’ve other wise forgotten about. Thank you and so many blessings to you too in 2023!
