Last summer in August 2021, we checked out a new to us campground. White Lake State Park in Tamworth, NH.
The campsites are packed together and most are small, but the appeal is the lake. The water is perfectly clear, like pool water and the bottom of the lake feels like an ocean with only sand. Our only plans for this camping trip were to swim in the lake and the weather cooperated.
After getting our camp set up we explored the campground. We took the trail to the lake, saw the public beach access, the playground and found the campground only lake access too. Anika was too excited to wait to swim and decided to go in immediately fully clothed. Jake followed.
For a couple of days we swam, ate and sat by a campfire. It was restorative and perfect.

Thank you so much for sharing, especially with mostly photos. Your family trip feels connected, nature-respecting and enjoying, active, healthy, loving, and a good break from digital world. I smiled just looking at and reading your captions.
I love the words you used to describe our trip. 100 percent accurate! So happy it made you smile.
I enjoyed the photos, we camped there in tents back in late 50’s to mid 60’s. Swam in Swift River before the highway was finished, saw wolves in the headlights a few times.
Oh wow! That sounds so cool!
