Rangely Lake State Park, Rangely Maine

My husband is a lot of things, but easily impressed is not one of them. His response to seeing Niagara Falls for the first time…”Is this it?” The Grand Canyon…”It’s ok.” So last year when he loudly declared his love of Rangely Lake State Park Campground I knew that we would be returning this year. Added bonus that we all love this place too.

The Campground

We snagged the same campsite with direct lake access (number 19, I’m not gate keeping) again this year.

Still blown away by the private lake access directly from the campsite. You can see the lake from your campsite. 🤯

Campground is perfect for bike riding!

Nearby Towns

Oquossoc

We love heading into Oquossoc to grab some pizza at The Oquossoc Grocery. They have a covered porch seating area.

The Farmer’s Daughter has ice cream right next door too.

Downtown Rangely

We love to walk around downtown Rangely, grabbing coffee or a pastry, poking around the gift shops and visiting their playground that is located right on the lake.

The kids found these hats in the clearance section of one of the gift shops. Both kids were in need of a new hat and they look so cute on them!

Cascade Stream Gorge

This trip we discovered Cascade Stream Gorge. It was close to downtown Rangely and our campsite. A super easy one mile hike that follows the gorge of Cascade Stream with small waterfalls along the way. We loved it!
