North Conway NH Travel White Mountains

Eagle Mountain House and Jackson NH, Holiday Trip

Last December 2021, we surprised our kids with a trip to the Eagle Mountain House Hotel in Jackson, New Hampshire. We had been here in the summer but this was our first trip in the winter.

We checked into the hotel and ate the pizza in our room that we had picked up on the way there. By the time we finished it was dark out and we decided to head back out to check out Jackson all lit up with Christmas lights at night. Specifically we wanted to see the Honeymoon Covered Bridge.

The next morning we headed back into the little town. This place is adorable in the summer but in the winter its straight out of a Hallmark movie. Lights everywhere and sleigh rides going down the main street.

We stopped at White Mountain Puzzle to get a holiday puzzle to do in our hotel room later.
A little playground next to the puzzle store where we played for a bit.

After that we headed in to North Conway Outlets to walk around outside for a bit.

At this point it had started to snow. We decided to stop by the candy store for the kids on the way out and then headed back to the hotel to put together our puzzle and we watched our first Hallmark Christmas movie. We followed that up with some Home Alone 2.

We got takeout for dinner from the hotels restaurant. It was delicious.

The next morning we packed up and headed home. There was a clean white coating of snow covering everything. Anika stopped on our way to the car, pulled out a notebook and pen and said ”I need to draw this.”

This trip was cozy, warm and relaxed. Filled with lots of beautiful scenery, snuggles and good food. Just what all of us needed.
