My essentials when transitioning to two

I didn’t buy a lot of stuff when I got pregnant with my second child; however, I did purchase three items that I would buy time and time again. 20 months into being a mom of two has revealed these items useful for me on many occasions.

1. Double stroller

This works for me because my kids are only just shy of three years apart. My daughter is tiny and still really likes to ride in a stroller. My son is on the bigger size so there is only about an 8 pound weight difference between them. I got a double Bob at an amazing price and I plan on selling it when we are done with it. Bob’s hold their value and should not be an issue to sell. Hands down it’s the best. Comfortable for the kids. Huge storage basket below. Turns easily and has such a smooth ride. Negatives? It’s big and heavy. It takes up a ton of room in my trunk.

2. Baby carrier

I’m a stay at home mom who takes care of both kids all day long solo. If we are going to leave the house, especially in the early stages when my son couldn’t move at all by himself, a baby carrier was crucial. It also allows  me to have free hands to help my older daughter while caring for my son.

3. Backpack diaper bag

I didn’t really need a diaper bag when I had one kid but oh boy did I need one with two. I think it was because life couldn’t really stop with my second child like it did with my first. We all needed to continue about our day and get out of the house. I also most definitely needed one that allowed my hands to be free. It was awesome being able to strap something to my back and not think about it.
